It’s official, phase 2 is activating! 2116 blocks (roughly 3 and a half days) from now phase 2 will go live on the main network, funding of witness accounts will at that point become possible and shortly after that (once enough accounts are funded) witnessing will activate!
In preparation we ask that all users who have not already done so start to update their wallets to the latest 2.0 version, and update over the coming week if any further updates become available, in order to assure the network is as healthy as possible when the moment arrives. While phase 2 and 3 are backwards compatible and older versions will continue to work, version 2.0 is at this point the much better tested version and offers much more stability to the network and things will function smoother with the majority of users upgraded. If you know of any websites that might use Gulden please ask them to also ensure that they have upgraded.
The exception to the above is more complicated services (exchanges like bittrex for example) and similar who do not need to update at this point and may have legitimate reason to want to spend more time testing before they do update, the Gulden team will make special contact to assist these sorts of services when the time is right — in the meantime phase 3 is backwards compatible so everything will continue to function correctly. Therefore please do not contact or bother exchanges about the update, leave that in the hands of the developers.
